Dieziani Alison-Madueke elected first female president of OPEC


Nigeria's Minister of Petroleum, Dieziani Alison-Madueke has been elected the first female president of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). She was elected today at the ongoing 166th General Meeting of the body in Vienna, Austria.

She replaces former president of OPEC, Libyan Vice Prime Minister for Corporations, Abdourhman Atahar-Ahirish. She was elected for one year and is expected to immediately resume office.

The National Universities commission (NUC) in collaboration with Park Association E-learning Group and partnering with Nigerian Universities is commencing the first major e-learning degree programme in the country. 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admissions into the four Universities approved to commence E-learning degree programme through the Unified Matriculations Examination (UTME) for the 2013/2014 academic session. The programme is only available for candidates who wish to obtain Bsc. Degree in Economics.

Maid Captured On Video Torturing Baby To Appear In Court on December 8 - Baby Still Alive


In the video, which went viral on Facebook, Jolly Tumuhirwe, a 22-year-old housemaid in Naalya in Kiwatule suburb, appears to be battering the baby with a hard object on the face. When the child starts vomiting, the video shows the maid throwing her heartlessly on the floor of the living room. She then beats her with a hard object before standing on the baby’s back several times and the toddler groaned in pain on the floor

Following reports that the two-year old baby seen in a video being tortured by a maid has passed on, we went down to work.

House Speaker Tambuwal Says He Is Ready To Face The Police

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal has reacted to the invitation by the Nigerian Police in Abuja. The speaker who was earlier today declared wanted by the Nigerian police however warned the police from partisanship. In a  statement signed by his media aide, Imam Imam, Tambuwal promised to honor the date with the police authorities but cautioned the police to remain politically neutral.

Janina Kolkiewicz, 91, was found on November 6 lying on the floor at her home in Ostrow Lubielski, a town in eastern Poland, by her family.
After finding her pulse and breathing had stopped, distraught niece Bogumila, 54, called their local doctor, Wieslaw Czyz, 47, who pronounced the woman dead.

She is covered in tattoos including her fingers, feet, legs, back, all her arms hands and neck, and was told by the deputy head that they were inappropriate.
