Security sources have given the name of the Boko Haram commander killed in Konduga last week by Nigerian soldiers as Isa Damsaka, with one of them noting that Damsaka was the man who has always been seen in Boko Haram videos posing since last year as “Abubakar Shekau”.
Shekau announced in 2009 that he had taken over leadership of Boko Haram following the death of the founder, Mohammed Yusuf. Yet, he had been reported killed on two previous occasions, the first being that he died in the Maiduguri uprising of August 2009 and the second in 2013 after a military raid on Sambisa forest. But videos have always emerged on different occasions debunking the reports.
Similarly, an Australian negotiator, Stephen Davis, had in a mail to Vanguard, said that Abubakar Shekau died in the Sambisa forest around June 19, 2013 as a result of gunshot wounds he sustained in an encounter with the JTF when the federal government was close to concluding a peace deal with the Boko Haram insurgency.Corroborating this, the source said, “He did sustain injuries but was taken for treatment by his lieutenants to Amitchide, on the border with Cameroon, and he did not survive.”
The security official further explained that the surviving commanders later regrouped and appointed Damsaka to continue to pose as Shekau in the propaganda videos. Hear him, “Boko Haram commanders have been using him for quite some time to make their propaganda videos. The script which he read as he delivered his message on-camera is written for him by another commander,” the official said.

Moooove over, Ben Roethlisberger. There's a new No. 7 in western Pennsylvania.
The folks at Vale Wood Farms in Loretto have named a calf Baby Ben after the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback because the cow has a marking that looks like a No. 7 on its head.
The farm has posted the calf's picture on its Facebook page, and visited the farm about 70 miles east of Pittsburgh to see what all the fuss is about.

A woman in Maine has come across a two-headed baby snapping turtle that was trying to cross the road.
Kathleen Talbot of Hudson tells the public through a news agency that she found the tiny creature this week while she was watching turtle hatchlings to make sure they arrived safely at the other side of the street.

EBOLA DEAD
There's currently panic, fear and confusion in two villages in Nimba County in Liberia after reports that two female Ebola victims have risen from the dead.According to local reports, 44 year old Dorris Quoi who lived in Hope Village Community and a 67 year old woman identified as Ma Kebeh, died of the Ebola virus and were about to be taken for burial when they resurrected and are now walking among the living.
According to reports in a local newspaper, New Dawn, Ma Kebeh had been indoors for two nights without food and medication before her death, while Dorris had suffered for several weeks before she died alone in her family home. This is the first report of dead Ebola victims resurrecting. Despite some people's reservations about the story being true, it hasn't stopped them from panicking.WOW this is scary.

The Lagos State Government has backed the September 22, 2014 resumption date for public and private schools announced by the Federal Government.
The Federal Government had earlier fixed October 13 as the resumption date for nursery, primary and secondary schools for the 2014/2015 session, as part of measures to contain the spread of Ebola virus, which was imported into Nigeria by late Liberian-American, Patrick Sawyer.
Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof Dibu Ojerinde has said that JAMB would fully resort to computer-based test in 2015/2016 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Ojerinde made the disclosure during the second technical committee meeting for 2014/2015 admissions to tertiary institutions in the country, where he said last year’s UTME was partially pencil test, dual-based test and computer-based test.
He noted that with the success recorded last year, the board would go full-blown on computer-based test in 2015/2016 UTME. So prospective jamb candidate should be fully prepared, Wish you best of luck.
